As the holidays come dancing around the corner, parents and holiday clubs alike must be busy scraping out their creativity bank for ideas to keep the cheeky monkeys engaged and happy. To make your task a wee bit easier, we have combed through various craft blogs and websites and compiled some rather cute and creative craft ideas for kids at your holiday camp and out of school clubs.
#1. Pebble Art
This is a fun and inexpensive way to fire up creativity and make some keepsakes to take home after a day trip to the beach.
Things you will need:
Pebbles of various sizes and shapes
Acrylic paint
Paintbrushes
How to go about it:
Wash and dry the pebbles to remove any traces of dirt or sand on them. Get them to first paint the pebbles in a single colour of their choice and then draw on the design and add the details. You can even print out some pictures of starfishes, minions, ladybirds, strawberries or funny faces and let them copy them on to the pebbles. Encourage them to experiment with shading to take it to the next level.

#2. Food Art
Food art is a great way to get the kids to unleash their imagination and add some appeal to the boring ol’ fruits and veggies and help them find their way back to their plates.
Things you will need:
Fruits and berries
Skewer sticks or toothpicks
Cookie cutters
How to go about it:
The sky is the limit when it comes to what you can do with fruits and veggies and a few cookie cutters and toothpicks. A simple example would be to get the children to cut out watermelon stars with a star-shaped cookie cutter. Get them to string a few blueberries on to a skewer stick and add the star right at the top to create their own magic wands.
